Job Summary

The Product
The product is a startup platform focused on legal tracking and document workflows (DocuSign-like application). It is designed as a fast scalable web system with a strong emphasis on backend stability data integrity and reliable business logic. The current stack includes Supabase (Postgres) Deno edge functions and React (Vite) with a planned gradual transition to AWS and Cloudflare.

The Position
We are looking for a Backend Developer with strong Python and database expertise. This role is focused on building and maintaining backend systems that power document workflows ensuring reliability scalability and clean architecture. You will take ownership of backend logic and core systems in a fast-paced startup environment.

Team Composition & Collaboration
You will work in a small high-ownership team with direct product impact. The role involves close collaboration with frontend developers and the team lead contributing directly to product development and aligning with business needs.

Responsibilities

Design and implement backend services using Python.
Work extensively with relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL).
Design schemas write efficient queries and optimize performance.
Maintain and improve existing APIs and edge functions.
Integrate document workflows and external services.
Ensure reliability of core business logic (claims users documents).

Your Experience

Must-have:

3 years of experience.
Strong Python skills (async API design).
Strong SQL and database design knowledge (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
Experience building and maintaining APIs.
Solid understanding of relational database principles (indexes normalization transactions).
Understanding of data consistency and backend architecture.

Nice to have:

Experience with Supabase.
AWS (RDS Lambda).
Docker.
Event-driven or queue-based systems.
Experience with document/signing systems.
