SO1 Military Aviation Academy Advisor
Job Summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Wing Commander (Any Profession) to serve as the Military Aviation Academy Academic Advisor at the Accreditation and Education Wing 22 Group RAF Cranwell on Additional Duties Commitment (180) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 24 August 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
Brief description of role:
Responsibilities include:
- Providing advice and support to RAF students completing the Aviation Systems Management foundation degree-to-BSc top-up module.
- Providing academic writing guidance to students in support of all written assignments.
- Acting as the assessor for all written assessments.
- Supporting continuous improvement of BSc top-up module workbook and all courseware.
- Support the development of the wider MAA programme.
- Managing the student progress of multiple cohorts as they progress through the top-up module including engagement with line management as required.
- Contribute to the annual report to the Open University.
- Reporting on student progress and addressing any completion issues that may arise.
- Representing students at biennial Exam Boards with the Open University and tri-Service partners.
