Job Summary
The LPN/LVN Emergency Room (ER) provides direct patient care in a fast-paced high-acuity emergency department setting. This role supports registered nurses and physicians in delivering timely efficient and compassionate care to patients with urgent and emergent conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of an RN or physician
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
- Assist with emergency procedures and interventions
- Administer medications and treatments within scope of practice
Emergency Support
- Assist in triage and prioritization of patient care
- Respond quickly to emergency situations and support life-saving measures
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and procedures
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Follow hospital policies procedures and regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper infection control and safety practices
Collaboration
- Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Communicate effectively with patients families and staff
- Support overall ER workflow and patient throughput
Required Qualifications
- Active LPN/LVN license (state-specific)
- Experience in Emergency Room or acute care setting preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and in high-pressure environments
