The Role

The school is seeking a scholarly engaging and dedicated Sociology Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons primarily across KS4 and KS5. Sociology is a flagship subject at this school attracting a large and diverse cohort of students who are eager to develop their sociological imagination and challenge traditional perspectives on power and identity.

You will have the opportunity to teach a rigorous curriculum (typically AQA) covering core themes such as Education Families and Households Crime and Deviance and Beliefs in Society. Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• A strong degree in Sociology or a related Social Science

• Proven experience teaching Sociology at A-Level (GCSE experience is also desirable)

• A deep understanding of sociological theory (Marxism Feminism Functionalism Postmodernism) and research methodology

• Ability to inspire students through the analysis of current affairs and social policy
