Job Purpose and Impact

The Food Safety Quality and Regulatory Senior Supervisor will ensure adherence to the facilitys food safety regulatory and quality programs and customer specifications in order to produce food safe and quality this role you will manage and develop relationships with the operations plant management and contract sanitation teams. You will identify problems or bottlenecks in processes and resolve issues ensure resources including materials equipment and human resources are available and support continuous improvement goals in food safety quality cost and customer addition you will work with other departments on root cause analysis corrective actions and preventative measures to ensure that they are effective.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct verification and maintenance of the food safety and quality systems hazard analysis programs sanitation procedures prerequisite programs manufacturing processes plant environment and finished product.
  • Collaborates with operations on the initiation of corrective action and preventative measures when necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate regulatory customer and facility food safety and quality requirements and completion of corrections and corrective actions.
  • Lead relevant regional corporate and regulatory food safety focused audits.
  • Act as food safety team leader coordinate and lead the food safety team and overseeing the food safety management system and management review.
  • Manage food safety management system compliance to appropriate government regulations.
  • Investigate and follow up on food safety incidents that occur in the plant to ensure they are reported and that corrective action and permanent corrections are taken.
  • Lead and develop a team coach and make decisions related to talent management hiring performance and disciplinary actions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of USDA Food Safety and Inspection Services regulations.
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience.
  • Strong handson experience with FSSC 22000 (Implementation maintenance and continuous improvement of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS)
  • Advanced working knowledge of HACCP (Management and verification of CCPs PCPs and PRPs)
  • Demonstrated experience leading regulatory and thirdparty inspections (FDA USDA or equivalent regulatory authorities).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Package)
  • Microbiology knowledge
  • Working knowledge of laboratory SPC and plant processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication and time management skills
  • Advanced technical knowledge related to quality and auditing standards regulatory practices and operational food safety policies/ procedures
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement Tools
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 57 years of experience in Food Safety and Quality (FSQ/FSQR) within a food manufacturing environment (pet food or highrisk food manufacturing preferred).
  • At least 23 years of proven peopleleadership experience with direct responsibility for a team of 10 employees including QA/FSQ technicians analysts or supervisors.
