Meet the team:
As the Manager and Technical Lead for Systems Engineering at Dexcom India you will serve as the technical anchor and functional leader for our growing international R&D center. You will bridge the gap between our Global Headquarters in San Diego and the high-performing engineering teams in Bangalore ensuring seamless integration of Systems Engineering best practices. You will manage a team of systems engineers while acting as a lead architect for next-generation Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems. Where you comein:
You will build manage and retain a high-performing Systems Engineering team in India overseeing resource planning performance management and career development to foster a culture of technical excellence and psychological safety.
You will lead the technical execution of the Systems Engineering lifecycle for complex connected medical device systems (System-of-Systems) ensuring architectural integrity across HW FW Mobile App and Cloud subsystems.
You will act as the primary Systems Engineering liaison between Bangalore and US-based leadership ensuring that the India Center of Excellence aligns with global R&D roadmaps and Dexcoms strategic vision.
You will drive the rigorous application of requirements management (using Jama Connect) and configuration management ensuring end-to-end traceability from user needs to verification evidence.
You will facilitate technical decision-making and trade-off analysis using systematic methods balancing performance cost and schedule while strictly adhering to patient safety and regulatory compliance (ISO 14971).
You will oversee the planning and execution of System Verification and Validation (V&V) strategies ensuring test setups in India match global standards for repeatability and coverage.
You will drive process improvements based on INCOSE guidelines moving the team toward mature MBSE practices and reducing reliance on document-centric workflows.
What makes you successful:
You possess a rare blend of functional management experience and hands-on technical depth in Systems Engineering with a proven ability to scale teams.
You demonstrate deep knowledge of the medical device product lifecycle (ISO 13485 IEC 62304 FDA 21 CFR Part 820) and have successfully led teams through regulatory submissions.
You are an evangelist for modernizing Systems Engineering with a demonstrated ability to implement GenAI workflows and advanced tooling to solve scalability challenges in documentation and analysis.
You demonstrate exceptional communication skills capable of translating complex technical risks into clear business impacts for executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners (Clinical Quality Marketing).
You have extensive experience administering and enforcing best practices in ALM and PLM tools (Jama Connect Jira etc.).
You exhibit strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to influence matrixed teams without direct authority ensuring alignment between software hardware and test disciplines.
Typically requires aBachelors degree in Engineering(Biomedical Electrical Systems or Software) and 12 years of experience with at least5years ina directpeople-management.
Nice tohaves:
INCOSE CSEP certification.
Experience transitioning teams from document-based SE to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) usingSysMLtools (Cameo/MagicDrawor Rhapsody).
Experience in developing or implementing AI/ML algorithms or systems within a regulated environment.
Published works or presentations in the field of systems engineering or medical device technology.
