Software Engineer 3 (Python Backend / API Development)

Location: Charlotte NC (300 S Brevard St) Onsite 3 days/week (Mon Tue Thu)
Duration: 12 Months (Potential Extension/Conversion)
Interview: 30-min MS Teams

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Backend Software Engineer with strong expertise in Python to design build and scale modern API-driven services. This role requires an execution-focused engineer who can take ownership of features end-to-end and collaborate effectively within a distributed team.

Candidates with Banking/Financial Services experience are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Design develop and maintain Python-based backend services
Build and support RESTful APIs using frameworks like FastAPI
Apply object-oriented design principles for scalable and maintainable systems
Own features end-to-end (design development deployment support)
Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity
Collaborate closely with team members during core working hours and onsite days
Continuously explore and adopt new tools frameworks and technologies

Required Qualifications

4 years of Software Engineering experience
Strong proficiency in Python (must-have)
Hands-on experience building REST APIs (FastAPI preferred)
Solid understanding of OOP and backend system design
Experience developing scalable high-performance applications
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Banking / Financial Services / regulated environments
Exposure to AI/ML tools or concepts
Experience with:
- Databases (schema design queries optimization)
- Basic front-end/UI contributions
Familiarity with modern development practices and tools

Additional Information

Role requires onsite presence 3 days/week (Mon Tue Thu)
