Job Summary

The Director Sales for Asia Pacific (APAC) will support and execute JR286s commercial plans for the Nike business across Greater China and other Asia Pacific countries with a strong focus on distributor management and dayâtoâday Nike integration in the region. Reporting to the Vice President Sales Asia Pacific (APAC) this role is accountable for delivering sales results with assigned distributors driving disciplined execution in market and maintaining strong operational relationships with Nikes regional teams.

What Youll Do:

  • Execute regional sales plans and seasonal initiatives for assigned markets and distributors in line with JR286 and Nike objectives.â
  • Manage dayâtoâday distributor relationships including sellâin forecasting inputs order book management and basic KPI tracking (shipâin sellâthrough inventory health margin).â
  • Support the Vice President in implementing a rolling multiâyear commercial plan by providing market feedback distributor performance insights and local execution recommendations.â
  • Partner with distributors to ensure strong retail execution that reflects Nike and JR286 standards (merchandising basics assortment adherence pricing and promotion guardrails) escalating major issues to the Vice President as needed.â
  • Coordinate with internal crossâfunctional partners (sales operations/customer service planning product finance legal operations) to ensure timely tools line lists pricing and GTM materials are delivered to distributors.â
  • Align with Nike account and category teams on seasonal priorities key stories and GTM calendars ensuring JR286 actions and distributor plans are coordinated with Nikes channels (e.g. DTC NSP NSO Digital) under the guidance of the Vice President.â
  • Represent JR286 in selected Nike and distributor touchpoints (e.g. seasonal line reviews GTM meetings key business reviews) preparing standard reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.â
  • Conduct regular market and store visits in priority cities to review execution gather competitive and consumer insights and provide structured feedback and followâup action plans.â
  • Support the preparation of seasonal forecasts and annual budget inputs by consolidating distributor projections reviewing reasonableness and flagging risks/opportunities to the Vice President.â
  • Track and report basic market trends competitor activity and distributor performance recommending tactical adjustments in partnership with the Vice President.â
  • Contribute to Nike integration initiatives (e.g. new process rollouts tools or reporting requirements) by coordinating training and adoption with distributors.â
  • Provide coaching and guidance to distributor commercial teams on JR286 processes and ways of working tools and expectations; reinforce Nike brand and JR286 standards in everyday execution.â
  • Other duties as assigned.

What to Bring:

  • 710 years of progressive sales or commercial experience in sporting goods consumer or related industries with exposure to distributor or wholesale account management in China and/or broader APAC.
  • Solid understanding of the Greater China/APAC commercial landscape (retail formats distribution models and basic cultural/market differences) with willingness to learn deeper market nuances over time.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing key accounts or distributors delivering sales targets and working within agreed commercial frameworks and brand guidelines.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills; ability to work effectively with distributor partners and internal cross functional teams.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal); Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in business marketing or a related field.
  • Experience working in a matrixed or regional environment a plus but not required.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands on execution focused approach.
  • Cross cultural collaboration skills and comfort working across time zones.
  • Strong presentation and meeting management skills for internal and distributor facing reviews.

Additionally:

  • Position is based out of Shanghai
  • Regional travel up to 25%; International travel up to 10%
