Job Summary
Role Overview
The Senior IT Engineer is responsible for designing implementing and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions across on-premises cloud and hybrid environments. This role requires deep technical expertise a proactive mindset and strong collaboration skills to ensure high availability security and performance of global IT systems.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Architect and deploy solutions across on-premises Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments.
Virtualization Management: Administer and optimize Hyper-V platforms for scalability and efficiency.
Server Administration: Manage Windows and Linux server environments including physical hardware and virtualized systems.
Endpoint Management: Implement and support SCCM for OS deployment patching and endpoint lifecycle management.
Virtual Machine Operations: Operate and enhance SCVMM for provisioning and lifecycle management of virtual machines.
Incident Resolution: Collaborate with global teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly.
Monitoring & Optimization: Proactively monitor infrastructure components to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Disaster Recovery: Maintain high availability and disaster recovery readiness through robust planning and testing.
Automation: Develop scripts and leverage Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. PowerShell) to automate routine tasks.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of architecture configurations and operational procedures.
Business Alignment: Apply a business-oriented mindset to infrastructure decisions ensuring cost-efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
5 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering roles.
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure Hyper-V SCCM and SCVMM.
Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration.
Experience with scripting (PowerShell) and automation tools.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a global team environment.
Strong communication skills and business acumen.
