2 Days Cover For A Local Authority Organisation
Job Purpose
To prepare cook and serve high-quality food in a safe hygienic and efficient manner supporting the daily operations of the YPO supply shop café/food service area.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items in line with menu specifications
- Ensure all food is presented to a high standard of quality and consistency
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Follow all food hygiene health and safety regulations at all times
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Receive and store deliveries appropriately
- Minimise food waste and control portion sizes
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support menu planning and suggest improvements where appropriate
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly
Requirements
- Previous experience as a cook chef or kitchen assistant
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Safety preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Basic understanding of stock control
