SUMMER PROGRAM SCHEDULE
8:15 Teacher Daily Arrival Time
2:15 Teacher Daily Release Time
Week 1: July 6-9 (M-Th) / 4 days - 24 hoursper week
Week 2: July 13-16 (M-Th) / 4 days - 24 hoursper week
Week 3: July 20-23 (M-Th) / 4 days - 24 hoursper week
Week 4: July 27-30 (M-Th) / 4 days - 24 hoursper week
Week 5: August 3-6 (M-Th) / 4 days - 24 hoursper week
- 5 hours of workspace and program prep prior to summer session opening (dates TBD according to availability or school and staff).
- 5 hours of workspace and program finalization after summer session ends (dates TBD according to availability or school and staff).
The Secretary IV primary responsibility will be to assist the summer school program administrator with the summer school registration process preparation and distribution of letters and documents mailings and school setup. Will serve as program receptionist and complete other tasks as necessary. Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are required. The Secretary will be under the direct supervision of the program administrator. This position is available to current contracted Mount Vernon School District employees only (substitutes not eligible). Current MESA bargaining unit members are encouraged to apply.
Experience and Training Needed:
- Current contracted Mount Vernon School District employee
- Be Bilingual in Spanish and English- Spanish skill will be assessed at interview
- Prefer experience in the Skyward student system and web based accounting system. Ability to process student information in a confidential manner
- Be able to Mass enroll unenroll and schedule students by classroom teacher in SKYWARD. Must be able to enroll students in #1 and #2 areas and also schedule them with the proper teacher.
- Must be able to input attendance information daily
- Must be able to send ParentSquare messages
- Make phone calls to bilingual families
- Must demonstrate outstanding typing word processing and google or Microsoft application skills
- Must be able to work independently and with little supervision
- Current First Aid & CPR training may be required
- Must be able to perform varied responsibilities understanding and following oral and written instructions and to understand apply and interpret rules regulations procedures and policies
- Must be able to function in a calm efficient courteous manner under stress and frequent interruptions and to exercise careful judgment diplomacy and tact in the performance of the job duties
- Must maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and work hours specified under contract regularly
- Must professionally interact with culturally diverse students families staff and the public
- Must comply with all district policies and comply with the code of professional conduct
- Assist with other positions when short-staffed as needed

Pay for contracted classified employees is distributed once/month on the last business day of the month. Pay for employees who work less than full year is spread through August. Questions concerning pay processes may be directed to the Personnel Office.
