DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
The Melissa Campus Student Ministry Pastor provides oversight and leadership to the Melissa Campus Student Ministry during an exciting and formative season of campus launch. Operating without a permanent facility this role demands a creative adaptable leader who can build a thriving student ministry from the ground up utilizing community spaces school campuses homes and temporary venues to reach and disciple students. They work to train encourage and support at the campus level while collaborating with centralized staff and other campuses to keep the ministry effective integrated and prepared to reach and serve students well. They are a key part of leadership development and have opportunities to host weekend services. This is a part-time 25-hours-per-week position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Student Ministry
- Provide leadership and pastoral care for the Melissa Campus Student Ministry
- Build the Melissa Student Ministry from the ground up. Establishing culture rhythms and volunteer structures in a launch-phase environment
- Plan and oversee execution of all weekly Melissa Student Ministry activities and events adapting creatively to temporary and off-site venues as needed
- Think outside the box to create engaging excellent student ministry experiences without a permanent facility leveraging school campuses community spaces parks and homes
- Recruit train develop and encourage Melissa Student Ministry volunteer leaders
- Be highly visible at local Melissa-area school campuses to connect with students and administration
- Operate Melissa Student Ministry in keeping with approved budget
- Work with the Melissa Campus Pastor to develop and implement the Melissa Campus Student Ministry Strategy
- Work with other campuses Student Ministries to plan cross-campus events and to develop and adapt programming that applies to the Melissa Campus
- Celebrate others well and have fun

- Actively participate in and recruit students for weekly campus set-up and tear-downunderstanding that in a launch phase all hands contribute to creating excellent Sunday environments
- Provide a physical presence during weekend services and Melissa Campus events to serve and connect with team members parents and students
- Participate in Campus Meetings Core Team Meetings and assist the Melissa Campus Pastor in providing overall direction for the campus
- Help develop and maintain systems and spaces for Student Ministry within the temporary venue context ensuring consistency and excellence week to week
- Upfront Leadership at Campus
- As one of a few pastors on the campus the Melisaa Student Pastor has regular weekend responsibilities in the service (host space) which include speaking trainings baptisms etc.
- This person needs to be friendly and approachable.
CHASE OAKS STAFF PASTOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Commit to doing ministry as a team; develop interdependence among team members and be authentic with team members
- Commit to participate in the core functions of Chase Oaks Church
- Participate in and take responsibility for the execution of the Ministry Team planning process
- Consistently model a life of bridge-building
- Participate in Pastor-of-the-Day (POD) calls and Pastor-of-the-Weekend (POW) calls
- Be available to perform sacerdotal functions (weddings funerals communion and baptisms)
- Regularly attend and participate in staff and pastoral meetings and/or leadership development opportunities
- Be available to assist other ministries and pastors with projects or by handling specific assignments
- Pursue an active growing relationship with Christ

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE DESIRED
- Education: Minimum of a college degree
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role would supervise any potential Student Resident or Intern.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding the Chase Oaks ministry environment is also required. High attention to customer service.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook calendaring and email
- Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Data entry skill & experience
- Familiarity with databases
