Title: IT Trainer / Application Specialist
Location: Richmond VA 23225
Mode of work: Onsite
Mode of Interview: In person
Complete Description:
Candidates must be able to work and interview on-site. LOCAL candidates are strongly preferred.
The Application Trainer is responsible for delivering effective end-user training for the Electronic Health Records application to ensure successful adoption usability and ongoing proficiency. This role designs develops and delivers training programs documentation and learning materials while working closely with Health Services Health IT and vendor teams.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions for new and existing applications
Develop and maintain training materials including user guides quick reference sheets videos and e-learning modules
Customize training content based on user roles workflows and system configurations
Conduct training needs assessments and recommend appropriate learning approaches
Support application rollouts upgrades and system changes through targeted training initiatives
Provide hands-on system demonstrations and facilitate interactive learning sessions
Evaluate training effectiveness and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on application functionality and workflows
Collaborate with Health Services Health IT and vendor teams to align training with system capabilities
Maintain training schedules attendance records and completion metrics
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education Information Systems Healthcare Informatics Business or a related field (or equivalent experience)
25 years of experience in application training software implementation or user education
Strong presentation and facilitation skills for diverse audiences
Experience developing training materials using tools such as PowerPoint LMS platforms or video authoring software
Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear user-friendly manner
Skills &Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Adaptability to different learning styles and technical skill levels
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to travel as needed for on-site training sessions
Working Conditions
Must have:
5 years Experience in application training software implementation or user education
3years Strong presentation and facilitation skills for diverse audiences
5 years Experience developing training materials using tools such as PowerPoint LMS platforms or video authoring software
