Summary of Job Duties:
The Monitor Technician (Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician) provides direct patient care to assigned patients and works as a team member of the Respiratory Care Department (Heart Station). The EKG Technician performs EKGs throughout the hospital and outpatient clinics.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED PLUS Six (6) months direct patient care related experience.
PCT certified within three (3) months of hire (training provided).
Become CPR certified within the first 90 days of hire (training provided)
Basic computer skills
Excellent communication skills strong work ethic and accountability
Mustpass the dysrhythmiacourse and maintain competency as a telemetry technician.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified as a nursing assistant or military corpsman
Current BLS
Certification in the EKG or Dysrhythmia course
Microsoft Office experience
EPIC EMR
Kronos
Current certification or competency in EKG acquisition
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Performs EKG on time
Cleans EKG equipment after each patient use
Maintains a clear electrocardiogram signal
Problem-solves the interference of the pattern
Assign an overreader in MUSE
Enters all patient information in Epic EKG machine and MUSE
Other duties as assigned
