Job Purpose and Impact
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Category Manager to drive ownership of a key growth category. This role is responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive margin growth market share and profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen analytical skills and a deep understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics.
Key Accountabilities
- Category Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies for the category including customer development product development pricing innovation systems and channel strategy.
- Customer-Driven Value Proposition: Develop and communicate Cargills value proposition by understanding customer needs.
- Market & Consumer Insights: Analyze market trends customer data and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and inform decision-making.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee product launches phase-outs and portfolio optimization in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Sales R&D Product Line Marketing Supply Chain and Finance to ensure alignment and execution of category plans.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor category KPIs and provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business Marketing or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 5 years of experience in category management product management or commercial strategy.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders.
- Experience with data analytics tools and financial modeling.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Chocolate Confectionery & Bakery categories.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Passionate about consumer trends and market innovation.
