Job Responsibilities
- Cooling System Inspection: Oversee the installation of critical HVAC systems includingChillersCRAC/CRAH units(Computer Room Air Handler)Cooling Towers andChilled Water Piping.
- Quality Control (QC): Ensure all mechanical works comply with approvedShop Drawings project specifications and international standards such asASHRAE(specifically for Data Centers) andSMACNA.
- Testing & Commissioning (T&C): Witness and verify critical mechanical tests includingHydrostatic/Pneumatic pressure testsfor pipingDuct Leakage Testing andAir Balancing (TAB).
- Fire Suppression Oversight: Inspect the installation of specialized fire protection systems for data halls such asPre-action SprinklersorClean Agent Gas Suppression (FM-200/Novec 1230).
- BMS Integration: Monitor the installation of sensors and actuators to ensure theBuilding Management System (BMS)can accurately control and monitor the mechanical environment.
- Defect Management: IssueNon-Conformance Reports (NCR)for any substandard mechanical work and manage thePunch Listuntil all mechanical defects are rectified.
- Material Inspection: Verify that all mechanical equipment and materials delivered to the site match the approvedMaterial Submittalsand data sheets.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors Degree (S1) or Diploma (D3) inMechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 35 years as a Mechanical Inspector with specific experience inHVAC for critical facilities(Data Centers Clean Rooms or Hospitals).
- Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding ofChilled Water SystemsDX Systems andPrecision Cooling.
- Familiarity withPiping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)and ducting layouts.
- Knowledge of Data Center environmental requirements (Temperature/Humidity setpoints).
