Job Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for executing the receiving storing picking packing and distribution of materials required for both internal use and external customers. This role involves documenting filing and recording receiving and shipping transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload trucks using a counterbalance forklift.
- Transport materials to and from various shop and yard locations.
- Maintain a valid Ontario forklift certification (counterbalance).
- Utilize an MRP system with at least 3 years of experience (SAP preferred).
- Generate packing slips and load layouts based on goods being shipped.
- Create and fulfill kit lists according to the production schedule in a timely manner.
- Run backlog reports to determine outgoing orders ensuring timely packing and shipping.
- Coordinate with external warehouses for the storage of long-lead items.
- Process nonconformances using internal tools and manage dispositions such as scrap and returns.
- Organize the internal warehouse and yard ensuring like parts are stored together and the shop remains clean.
- Maintain accurate records of packing and shipping activities.
- Communicate and notify appropriate personnel of inventory discrepancies.
- Demonstrate strong computer skills with proficiency in Google and Microsoft applications.
- Exhibit high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
Additional Expectations:
Employees are expected to monitor and stay current with all assigned training as well as
participate in safety meetings and audits. 40 hour work weeks with occasional overtime.
