What you do
You will be trading one of the first Vehicle-to-Grid and fastes growing BESS portfolios in Europe - at the intersection of energy markets battery storage and connected EVs. This isnt a desk where strategies have been running on autopilot for years. Youll build test and steer algorithmic bidding logic across Day-Ahead Intraday and reserve markets and youll see the direct impact of your decisions on a live and fast growing 500 MW portfolio across four countries.
If you want to work on problems that most trading desks wont face for another decade this is the place.
- Developing refining and live-steering algorithmic bidding strategies across our Automotive and Stationary portfolios
- Executing fully automated trades in DA ID reserve markets (FCR aFRR mFRR) and other flex markets via proprietary tools and PowerBot
- Managing positions continuously - SoC optimisation aggregation/disaggregation cross-market arbitrage
- Monitoring and adapting strategies to shifting market regimes price signals and asset availability
- Working closely with Quants Analysts and the Tech team on backtesting research and tool deployment
- Contributing to the ongoing development of our internal Trading Position Management System
- Pushing our automated trading environment further - manual interventions are the exception not the norm
Who you are
- Several years of experience as a trader in energy markets - BESS flexibility trading or comparable markets (banks insurance crypto welcome)
- Strong understanding of option structures algorithmic trading and multi-market optimisation across spot and reserve markets
- Solid Python skills - you write code not just read it
- Strong quantitative mindset: backtesting data analysis thinking in distributions
- Clear P&L ownership and genuine risk awareness (you know the difference between a calculated bet and a mistake)
- Fluent English and German is a plus
