Overview
The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician position at Cook Polymer Technology is to perform general and preventative maintenance work on both industrial manufacturing production equipment as well as the building and facility equipment.
Responsibilities
Troubleshooting maintaining and repairing facility and production equipment for a safe and productive work environment. Which includeshydrolic & pnueumatic powered equipmentas well as plastic injection molders & extruders.
Making repairs and improvements to equipment in the production process to ensure product quality and promote continuous improvement
Disassembles mechanical equipment and tools repairs or replaces worn or broken parts and reassembles
Adjusts parts of mechanical devices as needed
Inspects completed repairs
Prioritizing and self-scheduling maintenance work around production activities to achieve both production and maintenance goals and deadlines
Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled
Maintain Maintenance shop cleanliness and orderliness
Orders parts as needed for service
Ability to work overtime as required
Responsible for moving equipment and office furniture
Responsible for sidewalk snow removal
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Equipment/Facility Maintenance
Strong computer entry/retrieval skills
Experience using a CMMS to handle work orders and PM checklist is highly desirable
HVAC or Electrical experience a plus
Ability to read and interpret machine manuals/blueprints electrical schematics and process control diagrams
Experience troubleshooting of PLC and other control systems in an industrial environment
Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk bend stooping turn and lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds on a consistent basis
Capable of standing on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day kneeling and climbing 10 ladders
Personal protective equipment including safety glasses lab coat gloves and appropriate shoes may be required in areas associated with this position
