About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations and practical assessments

  • Supporting and supervising practical experiments in a safe and structured environment

  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing regular feedback

  • Contributing to departmental schemes of work and curriculum planning

  • Participating in extra-curricular science activities and events

  • Maintaining a safe and well-organised laboratory environment

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Have excellent subject knowledge in Chemistry

  • Be confident teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills

  • Be able to inspire and motivate pupils of all abilities

  • Work collaboratively within a department

  • Be committed to professional development and continuous improvement
