About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4 and may also contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will plan and deliver lessons that challenge pupils develop their practical and analytical skills and support their academic success.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations and practical assessments
Supporting and supervising practical experiments in a safe and structured environment
Monitoring pupil progress and providing regular feedback
Contributing to departmental schemes of work and curriculum planning
Participating in extra-curricular science activities and events
Maintaining a safe and well-organised laboratory environment
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have excellent subject knowledge in Chemistry
Be confident teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Be able to inspire and motivate pupils of all abilities
Work collaboratively within a department
Be committed to professional development and continuous improvement
