Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking a skilled Operating Engineer / Boiler Technician to support facility operations through preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who is comfortable working across multiple trades and supporting overall building operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC plumbing and electrical systems
- Clean HVAC coils and replace filters and belts
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems including toilets sinks drains water heaters and piping
- Assist with boiler operations and maintenance (certification preferred)
- Support electricians plumbers and mechanics with various tasks as needed
Facility & General Maintenance
- Repair and maintain doors locks closers and building fixtures
- Perform interior and exterior building maintenance including painting and minor repairs
- Conduct inspections of walls flooring roofing systems and lighting
- Complete general handyman duties and tenant service requests
Work Order & System Management
- Prioritize and complete preventative maintenance (PMs) and work orders (daily weekly monthly annual)
- Update work orders in real-time using CMMS systems (e.g. Maximo)
- Maintain compliance documentation for fire extinguishers and building systems
- Escalate issues to management and client in a timely manner
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance (carpentry electrical plumbing or related fields)
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills (MS Office Outlook CMMS systems)
Preferred
- Certified Boiler Technician (highly preferred)
- EPA Universal Certification
- Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience
- Preventative maintenance experience on HVAC systems
- Mechanical and/or electrical background
