Role: Data Warehouse Architect
Location: Candidates can be in either Denver or Minneapolis (open to Amarillo and Wisconsin)
Role needs
- Establish data governance for effective decision making
- Define reporting governance across core business functions
- Standardize reporting formats and metric definitions; identify data sources/ownership
- Ensure regulatory/compliance reporting needs are captured
- Create a framework for ongoing reporting governance post implementation
- Data dictionary ownership and SAP experience required
- Targeting Level II/III (7 years)
Provides overall responsibility for the design development documentation and quality of the technical architecture that will support the functional design. Coordinates the design efforts of the various technical architects to ensure that the designs work together properly. Strategically design and implement data warehouses data marts and data stores while ensuring high levels of data availability. Responsible for defining data standards and models for warehouse architectures.
Role Overview / Scope of Work
This is a brand-new individual contributor role supporting Xcel Energys Customer Core Program which is implementing SAP as the billing system. The role is heavily focused on defining and establishing customer data governance processes across customer domains as SAP is rolled out. Responsibilities include partnering with SAP tower leads during blueprinting collaborating with Enterprise Data Governance and ensuring governance standards are defined and implemented.
Typical Day & Key Stakeholders
Daily activities include working with SAP tower leads to define data requirements partnering with Enterprise Data Governance and collaborating with System Integrators (SI) Business Integrators (BI) and internal business and technology teams. This role does not manage people and focuses on process leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience Level & Ramp-Up Expectations
Level II role targeting 4 6 years of experience. Initial ramp-up includes learning enterprise data governance practices and understanding current project status. Within the first 90 days the resource will expand governance efforts across customer domains and support reporting and analytics alignment with SAP blueprinting.
Required & Preferred Skills
Required: Data governance experience reporting/analytics background strong communication skills bachelors degree required (associates may be considered with strong experience). Preferred: SAP experience (IS-U a plus) utilities experience Signavio JIRA customer data domain experience and large transformation project exposure.
