Position: RE3/SRE1 – Design/System Engineer

Location: Chennai Tamil Nadu India (On-site)

EXP: 6-8 Years or 8-12 Years

Job Overview:

The engineer collaborates with crossfunctional teams customers vendors machinists and global R&D teams to develop differentiated solutions on/in glass systems such as railings partitions shower systems windows shutters and integrated hardware.

This role demands strong systems engineering expertise and the ability to conceptualize validate and deploy innovative architectures and components.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conceptualization Research & Design

• Independently perform most technical tasks leading the design and development of systemlevel solutions for glass applications.
• Create advanced 3D models detailed engineering drawings and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Apply scientific research methods analytical reasoning and design of scientifically testable hypotheses for new design concepts.
• Develop novel design architectures integrating hardware (hinges handles) and optional electronics into glassbased systems.
• Propose alternate methods tools and strategies for complex technical challenges.

2. Analysis Optimization & Feasibility

• Conduct FMEA and other analyses to assess and mitigate design risks.
• Perform basic structural analysis considering permanent loads external forces and systemlevel performance.
• Make substantial contributions to determining feasibility viability and strategic alignment of goals and objectives.
• Evaluate findings using strong analytical capabilities and literaturebacked research.

3. Prototyping Experimentation & Validation

• Coordinate prototype fabrication and execute structured testing plans with crossfunctional teams.
• Lead experimental design and provide consultation on scientific experimentation methodology.
• Iterate quickly based on test results feedback and design evolution needs.
• Initiate and drive exploratory or highrisk highreward R&D projects in parallel.

4. Customer Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Develop strong customer intimacy through solutiondriven engagement regular customer visits and proactive problem solving.
• Capture customer/market needs and translate them into actionable design and research directions.
• Build and maintain a network of peers collaborators and vendors for expanding technical capabilities.
• Influence customer decisions through technical expertise and relationshipbuilding.

5. Documentation Reporting & Governance

• Maintain precise documentation of design specifications research findings experiments and validation results.
• Prepare progress reports conduct team meetings and contribute to proposal creation and management presentations.
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines quality frameworks safety norms and regulatory standards.

6. Innovation IP Generation & Entrepreneurship

• Actively contribute to IP creation by differentiating inventions and generating protectable concepts.
• Exhibit entrepreneurial mindset through ownership experimentation and adapting to evolving business scenarios.
• Identify new research and design opportunities anticipating future market and technology shifts.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

Competencies:

• Strong command of fundamental engineering and domain-specific design principles.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with manufacturing processes materials and systemlevel integration.
• Ability to conduct literature reviews understand scientific papers and apply research strategies.
• Ability to integrate analytical rigor with design practicality.
• Experience with FMEA structural analysis and design optimization methods.

Experience & Qualification:

• in Mechanical/Systems/Design Engineering with 8–10 years relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in design–analysis–prototype loop customerinteraction and independent project ownership.
• Demonstrated experience in system development &/or leading product launches.

Travel Requirement:

• Travel up to 20–30% for customer interactions testing vendor visits and factory trials.
