The DTY (Draw Textured Yarn) facility is a critical upstream unit within the value chain playing a key role in ensuring consistent supply of high-quality yarn to downstream operations.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Polyester DTY Plant Manager to lead a high-speed Draw Textured Yarn (DTY) manufacturing facility. This is a senior hands-on leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end plant performance across production quality maintenance and team management.
The role requires deep technical expertise in polyester texturising along with strong operational leadership to manage a continuous 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Process Leadership
Lead end-to-end operations of the DTY plant including high-speed texturising lines (e.g. TMT Barmag)
Optimize key process parameters such as temperature draw ratio and take-up speed
Drive improvements in yield productivity and waste reduction
Ensure stable and efficient POY-to-DTY conversion processes
Quality & Technical Excellence
Ensure yarn quality meets weaving knitting and downstream processing requirements
Monitor and control key parameters including:
Crimp contraction
Tenacity
U% (uniformity)
Oil pick-up
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations
Collaborate with R&D teams on specialty yarn development including performance and high-stretch variants
Maintenance Utilities & Energy Management
Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery and utilities
Drive energy efficiency and power optimization in a 24/7 operation
Plan and manage spare parts maintenance budgets and downtime reduction strategies
Leadership Safety & Compliance
Lead and develop engineers supervisors and plant operators
Ensure strong adherence to health safety and environmental (HSE) standards
Maintain compliance with labour laws and environmental regulations
Build a culture of discipline accountability and continuous improvement
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Must-Have:
Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Extensive experience in polyester filament yarn manufacturing
Minimum 7 years in a senior leadership role within a DTY plant environment
Strong understanding of POY characteristics and DTY processing behavior
Hands-on experience with modern texturising machinery (TMT Barmag or similar)
Proven ability to manage large teams and continuous 24/7 operations
Preferred:
Prior experience working in Bangladesh or similar export-oriented textile hubs
Familiarity with global quality standards and customer requirements
Working knowledge of Bangla language (advantageous)
