Whats the role

You will be responsible for the technology that supports client on-boarding and the end-to-end database server lifecycle (build patching upgrades decommissioning) working in an agile way and supporting the wider teams to digitize the customer journey while meeting governance and compliance requirements.

You will be responsible for the technology that supports client on-boarding and the end-to-end database server lifecycle (build patching upgrades decommissioning) working in an agile way and supporting the wider teams to digitize the customer journey while meeting governance and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support database server platforms using DevOps practices and CI/CD release automation.
  • Automate database server provisioning configuration patching and deprovisioning using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Build integrations and automation hooks for onboarding monitoring and governance.
  • Maintain database service patterns standards and documentation.
  • Evaluate new technologies to improve database infrastructure automation and governance.
  • Support cloud and container platforms that host database services.

What do I need

Required Expertise

  • Strong in CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
  • Strong in Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (e.g. Terraform/Ansible or similar).
  • Experience building and running enterprise DevOps toolchains (e.g. Bitbucket Artifactory Chef Ansible Jenkins Github or similar).
  • Strong automation/scripting skills (PowerShell Bash Python).
  • Strong grasp of database infrastructure fundamentals (backup/restore HA/DR patching).

Preferred Attributes

  • Cloud computing experience (Azure/AWS or similar).
  • PostgreSQL experience (admin and/or platform operations).
  • OpenShift/Kubernetes experience.
  • Enterprise experience with governance risk and change management.
  • Comfortable with automated testing and CI/CD quality gates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
