Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kairuruku - Research Assistant (Technology & Diagnostics) to join Te Tātai Hauora o Hine - National Centre for Womens Health Research Aotearoa on a 12-month fixed-term part-time contract.
The Kairuruku - Research Assistant (Technology and Diagnostics)will support the delivery of ongoing research activities primarily related to the implementation of kaupapa Māori research projects which involve point-of-care testing:
- Be responsible for overseeing point-of-care testing platform performance.
- Liaise with project managers and team members to manage platform and testing consumables.
- Keep clear records of activities involving point-of-care-testing.
- Contribute to and support the Centres vision mission and strategic goals.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
You will be a motivated individual with the relevant skills who can take the initiative have excellent time management and can work independently but also collaborate as a team member.
Key requirements:
- A tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field (e.g. molecular biology).
- Laboratory-based experience that require skill and independence.
- Understanding of kaupapa Māori research.
- Interest in contributing to work that seeks to advance knowledges and upholds mana whakapapa and the aspirations of whānau for healthy futures.
- Excellent attention to detail.
