THE POSITION:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior or Lead Scrum Master / Project Manager with strong Agile delivery skills and a deep understanding of the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) industry. This hybrid leadership role is responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex healthcare technology initiatives by guiding Agile teams managing cross-functional projects and ensuring alignment with regulatory clinical and business goals.
The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of Agile frameworks (Scrum SAFe) experience in healthcare or PBM systems (claims formulary portals) and a track record of delivering high-impact multi-stakeholder projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Agile Leadership:
- Lead Agile ceremonies for one or more Scrum teams: sprint planning reviews retrospectives daily stand-ups and backlog refinement.
- Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile best practices to improve team performance and delivery cadence.
- Support Product Owners in backlog management story definition and release planning.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by analyzing Agile metrics (velocity cycle time etc.) and removing delivery blockers.
Project Management:
- Manage the full lifecycle of PBM or healthcare-related technology projects from initiation through deployment.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans timelines risks and resource forecasts.
- Track project performance and escalate risks dependencies and issues to leadership in a timely and effective manner.
- Coordinate across clinical operations analytics product and development teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain clear proactive communication across business and technical teams.
Industry-Specific Focus (PBM):
- Collaborate with SMEs to understand PBM workflows such as claims processing formulary management provider/member portal enhancements and CMS compliance.
- Ensure project deliverables meet regulatory and audit requirements (e.g. HIPAA CMS NCQA).
- Support integration efforts involving eligibility files EHR systems or payer/provider data exchange.
Data & Reporting:
- Track KPIs and support performance monitoring.
- Build JIRA dashboards and reports to provide transparency into team and project status.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience education knowledge skill and/or abilities required.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Healthcare Informatics or a related field.
- 58 years of experience as a Scrum Master Agile Project Manager or related role in a healthcare or PBM environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum SAFe) and traditional project management practices.
- Strong experience with JIRA Confluence and Agile project tracking/reporting tools.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex cross-functional initiatives in a regulated industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or PMI-ACP certification.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a strong plus.
- Experience working on PBM systems such as adjudication engines MTM platforms prior authorization tools or formulary management systems.
- Familiarity with CMS Part D guidelines HIPAA regulations and healthcare interoperability standards (e.g. HL7 FHIR).
- Experience with Release Train Engineering or large-scale Agile transformation programs.
