Job Summary

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Strategic HR Business Partner-Interims on a 3-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 54.05 - 73.36 per hour

Summary:

As a senior member of the HR and OD leadership team you will serve as an expert strategic advisor to senior leaders balancing your role as a member of a specific Services Senior Management Team with the councils broader ambition to be an employer of choice. You will drive the delivery of the At our Best people strategy and the Swindon Plan ensuring that people-related issues are integrated into the design and delivery of services while maintaining the councils financial sustainability

Responsibilities:

  • Lead restructuring workforce planning and transformation initiatives to ensure the council remains agile and scalable
  • Commission and interpret HR analytics to inform evidence-based decisions. Utilize AI digital solutions and modern systems to deliver an efficient HR service.
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues and maintain strong relationships with trade unions. You will evaluate risk-based options to advise senior leaders ahead of key decisions.
  • Assist in developing and rolling out organisational HR policies and procedures ensuring consistent application and suggesting improvements to business processes.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Membership of the CIPD (or equivalent experience).

Essentials:

  • Proven experience working within HR in a large complex and unionised environment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and an understanding of national and local government trends.
