Job Summary
Role: AWS Solution Architect (with migration experience)
Location: Perth WA Australia
Contract Type: 6 months with possible extension
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect to lead a large-scale cloud migration initiative. This role requires strong hands-on architecture experience in designing planning and executing end-to-end migrations from on-premises or legacy environments to AWS.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in migration strategy assessment execution and optimization within enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end cloud migration strategy and execution to AWS.
- Conduct application and infrastructure assessments (Discovery & Readiness).
- Design scalable secure and cost-optimized AWS architectures.
- Define migration patterns (Rehost Replatform Refactor Repurchase Retire Retain 6R strategy).
- Work closely with stakeholders DevOps security and infrastructure teams.
- Ensure compliance governance and security best practices.
- Optimize performance cost and reliability post-migration.
- Provide architectural documentation and best practice guidance.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8 years in IT infrastructure / cloud architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as:
- EC2 S3 RDS VPC IAM CloudFormation Lambda
- AWS Migration Hub DMS Application Migration Service (MGN)
- Proven experience in large-scale migration projects.
- Experience with hybrid environments and networking (VPN Direct Connect).
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and governance.
- Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation).
- AWS Solution Architect Certification (Associate or Professional preferred)
Nice to Have
- Experience in enterprise or government environments.
- Knowledge of containerization (EKS ECS Docker).
- Experience with cost optimization and Well-Architected Framework reviews.
