Job Description
Multi-service law firm headquartered in downtown San Jose is seeking a Litigation Associate with minimum 5 years experience in business litigation.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the State Bar of California
- Strong working knowledge of the California Code Of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code
- Private law practice experience with some experience taking responsibility for client matters (with supervision)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Desire to invest in building a future with a mid-sized law firm
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and prepare legal documents
- Draft pleadings discovery requests and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail
- Prepare for and engage in settlement negotiations hearings and trials to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
Location
This position can be based in our Silicon Valley (downtown San Jose) or Tri-Valley (Pleasanton) office. Travel between locations may be necessary.
Work experience
Private law practice experience with client responsibility.
Experience at AmLaw 200 and/or respectable midsize or regional firm
Education
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Active California State Bar membership.
Hard skills
Strong knowledge of California Code Of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code.
Soft skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
