This dual role position supports both Quality Control testing and Sample Technician responsibilities. The role ensures product quality manages sample preparation and shipments and maintains accurate documentation and inventory.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control
- Complete all requirements on the Lab Technician training checklist.
- Perform testing on raw materials intermediates and finished goods; record results and enter data into the ERP system.
- Prepare specimens for testing and analyze lab observations.
- Maintain clean organized lab spaces and uphold 5S standards.
- Ensure instruments are calibrated; report issues to the QC Manager.
- Review and update lab procedures; communicate changes to Production.
- Identify off specification / non-conforming material with applicable inventory status in ERP system and communicate with Production operator and / or supervisor as appropriate. Involve QC Manager if necessary.
- Support additional lab testing as requested.
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies and coordinate replenishment.
Sample Technician
- Collect samples from Production Shipping and QC teams.
- Prepare package and ship samples following SOPs and customer requirements.
- Include required documentation (TDS SDS) with shipments. Work with QC Team to provide COA if requested by customer.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and tracking information.
- Organize label and store sample retention inventory to ensure safety and traceability.
- Manage sample inventory database for easy retrieval.
- Cross Functional Support
- Assist Warehouse and Production based on operational needs.
- Support customer concerns and complaints alongside the QC Manager.
- Follow all safety protocols and use required PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification
- DOT Hazardous Material Shipping Certification (required before start)
- Strong communication skills and service oriented mindset
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to regulations
- Effective multitasking and problem solving skills
- Basic math skills
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associates degree in Science Math or Quality preferred
- Preferred: 1 year in quality control or manufacturing or equivalent training
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while testing or packing samples
- Exposure to loud environments
- Ability to sit for computer based testing or packing tasks
- Ability to bend reach climb ladders/stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to move throughout the facility and wear required PPE
