Marshfield Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Hospitalist to join our team in Marshfield Wisconsin. The Surgical Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Surgical Physician Assistant works within a cooperative unit utilizing team effort with health care providers co-workers and the public to provide positive patient interaction.Summary
The Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to hospitalized patients working collaboratively with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to manage acute and chronic conditions. The NP performs comprehensive assessments develops and implements treatment plans orders and interprets diagnostic tests and coordinates patient care to ensure optimal outcomes during hospital stays.Job Description
Perform comprehensive patient assessments including history physical exams and review of diagnostic results. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in hospitalized patients. Develop implement and modify individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Order interpret and follow up on laboratory tests imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures. Prescribe medications and treatments according to hospital protocols and state regulations. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary. Facilitate patient and family education regarding diagnosis treatment and discharge plans. Coordinate patient care with consulting specialists nursing staff social workers and other healthcare providers. Document all patient encounters and care plans accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR). Participate in hospital rounds quality improvement initiatives and staff education. Adhere to hospital policies procedures and regulatory requirements. Respond to emergent patient needs and assist in critical care situations as needed. This position also provides on-call coverage outside of regularly scheduled hours.Qualifications
