About the Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 6 class delivering engaging and structured lessons that support pupils academic progress and prepare them for Key Stage 2 SATs. You will also play an important role in supporting pupils emotional readiness for the transition to secondary education.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum
Preparing pupils for Key Stage 2 SATs examinations
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress through regular testing and feedback
Delivering targeted interventions to support pupil attainment
Creating a positive focused and supportive classroom environment
Working closely with teaching assistants and support staff
Building strong relationships with parents and carers
Supporting transition activities to secondary school
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have experience teaching in upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 6
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
Have experience preparing pupils for SATs assessments
Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
Be organised resilient and committed to high standards
Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
