Our Counselling program is powered by a passionate academic team within the School of Allied Health. With a blend of evidence-based expertise and real-world counselling experience they bring a contemporary person-centred approach to teaching.

Guiding students across our postgraduate counselling courses at the Perth campus the team is committed to developing skilled confident and compassionate counsellors.

Your New Role!

We are seeking an experienced academic with a strong research track record and a commitment to excellence in teaching. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of counselling education while building your research profile within a supportive collaborative environment.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Deliver highquality teaching across lectures tutorials seminars and clinical sessions including assessment design marking and moderation.

  • Lead independent research producing impactful publications and developing a recognised international profile in counselling practice education or policy.

  • Supervise postgraduate students including higher degree by research candidates (where accredited).

  • Contribute to School and University service including leadership administration and professional engagement.

This Continuous Full Time (37.5 hours per week) based at our South Street Murdoch Campus attracts a remuneration of $138321 $159219 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What youll bring to the role:

  • A PhD in Counselling Psychology or a closely related field.

  • Eligibility for professional registration with PACFA or ACA.

  • At least five years of clinical experience ideally including work with groups children or families along with experience teaching or training in the profession.

  • Proven leadership in curriculum design and delivery with a strong track record of applying contemporary evidencebased teaching approaches in higher education.

  • A solid research profile including highquality independent research and a strong publication record in counselling or a related discipline.
