In your role as Specialist AOG you will be responsible for the materials and logistics coordination for the recovery of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations in Australia and at any location globally that Qantas Airlines operates (i.e. LAX London Singapore etc.). The role will actively manage the end to end processes required to source purchase expedite project manage and govern the material requirements for AOG situations including financial responsibility for purchasing and freight movements.
 

The position is located within the Design and Planning team and is integral to the Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC) team located within the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC).  This position is staffed 24 x 7 and works autonomously for the majority of the 12-hour shift. Excellent organisational problem solving and communication skills are necessary to ensure that optimal recovery solutions are designed to ensure minimal disruption to aircraft availability and that aircraft On Time Performance (OTP) is maximised. The role is also responsible for continuous improvement initiatives ensuring improved service and recovery responses.
 

Youll need:

• 5 years of supply chain experience - planning purchasing repair management or warehouse operations
• Sound to very good use and knowledge of SUPPLY and Manhattan
• Ability to apply strong commercial knowledge and experience to decision making when sourcing parts from suppliers other airlines and cannibalising Qantas fleet  
• Strong understating of the aviation industry including knowledge of key parts suppliers and aviation operators
• Understanding of interrelationships between Line Maintenance Supply Chain MOC Base Maintenance and Qantas commercial operations. 
• Intimate knowledge of global and domestics freight schedules aircraft and operator capability and capacities dangerous goods requirements customs requirements throughout the global network and freight forwarding agreements with contracted parts such as AFI and KLM
• The ability to work 24 x 7 and work autonomously for the majority of a 12-hour shift.
