Summer Attendance Support Assistant (Part-time)
Location: Bedford Middle School

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Family Engagement Specialist the Summer Attendance Support Assistants will provide hands-on support for outreach data organization and family engagement activities related to Bedford Middle Schools attendance initiative. These positions will assist in contacting families helping prepare school engagement materials supporting community events and organizing documentation of attendance interventions. This role is ideal for individuals interested in education youth services social work or community outreach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in organizing and reviewing attendance records to help identify students for outreach or follow-up.
Make phone calls and send outreach messages to families regarding summer engagement opportunities and back-to-school attendance planning.
Help distribute materials such as attendance letters resource packets or family engagement invitations.
Provide logistical support for summer engagement events including setting up welcoming families and assisting with activities.
Maintain organized documentation logs of calls visits or student interactions as directed by the Family Engagement Specialist.
Participate in team meetings and check-ins to review outreach progress and needs.
Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all communications with families.
Other duties as assigned in support of student re-engagement and transition to the new school year.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Current college students or recent graduates in education psychology social work or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Experience & Skills:
Experience working with youth and families
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Reliable organized and able to follow directions and meet deadlines
Basic computer skills (e.g. using email entering information into spreadsheets)
Must pass a background check and adhere to school district policies and procedures
