The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Write high quality optimized SQL to retrieve and analyze data from relational databases (ex. Redshift MySQL S3 RDS) using your understanding of Amazons data resources and know how when and which sources to use and which not to use.
- Collaborate with other Business Intelligence teams to design and implement ETL data pipelines for extracting and analyzing billions of records from multiple databases.
- Work closely with Data Engineers and business users to design clean and scalable data sources required for analytics and reporting.
- Create userfriendly repeatable reporting solutions to minimize ad hoc customer requests which creates team thrash and a poor customer experience.
- Work directly with customers to understand the business problems at hand propose impactful analyses and solutions and ensure customers problems are solved and sustained.
- Define and develop business-critical metrics reports key performance indicators and financials across all compliance products that are consumable by a wide range of functions and levels.
- 8 years of professional or military experience
- 6 years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- 4 years of processing large multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- 1 years of people management experience
