The Cath Lab Manager is responsible for the overall leadership coordination and operational efficiency of the Catheterization Lab including Cardiac EP Neuro and Vascular services. This role ensures optimal patient throughput staff performance and adherence to quality safety and regulatory standards.
Oversee daily operations of the Cath Lab and procedural areas
Develop staff schedules assignments and workflow plans
Collaborate with leadership and technical teams to ensure smooth operations
Monitor and improve patient throughput first case starts and room turnover times
Identify operational issues and implement effective solutions
Ensure efficient patient flow across procedural and recovery areas
Maintain high standards of patient safety and care delivery
Develop and monitor performance improvement initiatives
Implement outcome-based practices and quality measures
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. Joint Commission federal and state regulations)
Maintain adherence to risk management and patient rights policies
Monitor and enforce departmental policies and procedures
Establish and track unit-based performance indicators
Support staff education credentialing and performance evaluations
Promote continuous improvement and professional development
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (Masters preferred)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (State-specific)
BLS (AHA) certification
ACLS (AHA) certification
Minimum 10 years of clinical cardiology experience
Minimum 5 years of cardiac catheterization lab experience
At least 3 years of experience in critical care interventional radiology perioperative services or related field
Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization and endovascular procedures including:
Right & Left Heart Catheterization
Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
Permanent Pacemaker placement
Loop recorders
Peripheral vascular procedures
TEEs venograms fistulograms
Port insertions permacath placements
IVC filters TCAR EKOS EVAR
Strong leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of nursing practices principles and regulatory standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage workflows and improve operational efficiency
Proficiency in computer systems and healthcare technologies
