Position Title: Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher (Middle/High School)

Position Overview
The Mount Greylock Regional School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher at the high school level to provide instructional and case management services during the temporary absence of a full-time educator. The successful candidate will support students with diverse learning needs and ensure continuity of services in alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Massachusetts special education regulations.
Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with IEP goals and accommodations
Implement lesson plans modify curriculum and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Serve as a case manager for assigned students including:
Monitoring progress toward IEP goals
Maintaining accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with Massachusetts DESE requirements
Coordinating with related service providers
Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and co-teaching models
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
Participate in Team meetings including IEP meetings annual reviews and re-evaluations
Maintain a positive structured and inclusive classroom environment
Follow all district policies procedures and state and federal special education laws and regulations
Qualifications
Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) license in Special Education (Moderate Disabilities 512 or Severe Disabilities All Levels) preferred
Candidates eligible for or working toward licensure will be considered
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in Special Education or related field preferred
SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Endorsement preferred or ability to obtain if required
Demonstrated knowledge of special education laws and regulations including IDEA and Massachusetts 603 CMR 28.00
Experience working with high school students with diverse learning profiles
Strong organizational communication and collaboration skills
Ability to begin assignment on August 26 2026 and commit through the anticipated end date
