POSITION: Faculty Architectural StudiesPOSITION SUMMARY
Adapt to new and changing situations and demonstrate a positive attitude. Demonstrate respect for students; understand learning styles and apply understanding to institution-related activities; demonstrate integrity and promote diversity and open communications. Fifteen credit hours a semester constitute a standard load. Course assignments may be late afternoon evening Saturday and at branch campuses or satellite centers. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
at least a minimum course load each semester during fall and spring semesters to include early morning classes day classes evening and weekend classes.
at other campus sites as needed
closely with other instructors and special programs and services within the college to determine placements curriculum and academic support.
in course development assessment accreditation and planning activities.
willing to teach online and/or hybrid courses.
in appropriate departmental meetings and recruitment activities; serve on committees.
in developing and modifying existing curriculum to keep program up to date with higher education requirements and industry expectation.
internships and relationships through industry contacts.
in departmental and institutional activities; taking an active role in program related activities including student organization program and college recruitment advisory committee college night career night etc.
other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College faculty contract
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
degree in architecture or related discipline.
2.A current Professional Architect license in Illinois or proof of registration in the IDP process working toward professional licensing will be considered relevant for the opening. Licensure required for tenure.
3.A minimum of 3 years of related industry work experience.
in appropriate technologies for instruction including knowledge of industry software relevant to the industry such as AutoCAD Revit Rhino Enscape SketchUp the Adobe Suite etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Architecture or related discipline.
credential or substantial sustainable architecture experience.
a network of industry companies and professionals to integrate and expand opportunities for program students.
teaching at the collegiate level
with traditional and non-traditional personnel from diverse backgrounds.
in teaching online and/or using course management programs.
in course development and assessment planning quality and accreditation processes and committee service.
and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
multicultural competence.

The ability to work with the materials tools and equipment in the construction lab.
