This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville Network Administrator II will be responsible for administering maintaining and optimizing AMCs diverse network environments including classified unclassified and DREN networks. This on-site role will focus on providing comprehensive network administration support across multiple network environments for the Army Materiel Command (AMC). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing classified and unclassified networks with strong knowledge of Army network security requirements and unified communications responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Maintain optimize and troubleshoot network infrastructure including switches routers cabling and fiber opticsAdminister network systems supporting ITSM Unified Communications and mission-critical IT systemsDesign and implement network solutions to meet evolving organizational requirementsDevelop and maintain accurate network documentation including detailed schematics and diagramsEnsure seamless interoperability between various networks (NIPR SIPR DREN)Maintain Information Assurance (IA) accreditation documentation for network systemsImplement and enforce security measures in accordance with Army IA regulationsPerform regular network upgrades patches and maintenance to ensure optimal performanceSupport users across diverse network environments addressing connectivity and access issuesDevelop and document IT processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Implement and manage network load balancing solutions for optimal performanceMonitor network performance and implement improvements as neededCollaborate with cross-functional teams on network-related projects and initiativesMaintain awareness of emerging network technologies and security threatsRespond to and resolve network incidents according to established prioritiesProvide technical guidance to junior team members as neededEducation and Experience:Required:Bachelors degree in Computer Science Network Engineering Information Technology or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in network administration preferably in a military or government environmentExperience supporting classified and unclassified networksDemonstrated experience with network infrastructure management and troubleshootingRequired Skills and Competencies:Current CompTIA Network or CCNA certification (or higher-level network certification)Knowledge of ITIL V4 framework and processesUnderstanding of Army Information Assurance regulations and compliance requirementsExperience with AMC Unified Communications IT and ITSM proceduresProficiency in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure (switches routers cabling)Experience with network design and implementationKnowledge of network security principles and practicesExperience creating and maintaining network documentation and schematicsFamiliarity with NIPR SIPR and DREN network environmentsUnderstanding of load balancing concepts and implementationStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills both written and verbalAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExperience developing IT processes and standard operating proceduresCurrent security clearance or ability to obtain required clearancesWillingness to work on-site in Huntsville AlabamaClearance Requirement:Secret clearanceDesired Skills and Competencies:CCNP or higher Cisco certificationsCompTIA Security certificationExperience with Department of Defense networks and systemsKnowledge of unified communications systems and implementationExperience with fiber optic infrastructure and maintenanceFamiliarity with Army network architecture and standardsExperience supporting ITSM tools and processesBackground in implementing network automation solutionsExperience with cloud networking concepts (AWS GovCloud Azure Government)Knowledge of virtualized network environmentsExperience with network monitoring tools and systemsUnderstanding of IPv6 implementation and transition strategiesExperience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) conceptsFamiliarity with VoIP technologies and implementationExperience mentoring junior network administratorsOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
