The Camp Counselor (Content) Summer 2026 is responsible forthe safety supervision and positive experience of campers duringsummercamp program. This role involves planning leading and activelyparticipatingin a variety of recreational and educational activities serving as a positive role model and ensuring a fun inclusive and secure environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

Camper Supervision and Safety:

Maintain constant visual and auditory supervision of a group of campers throughout all daily activities including meals downtime and trips.
Know enforce and follow all safety guidelines and emergency procedures associated with the camp program
Monitor the emotional and physical well-being of campers and respond appropriately to emergencies injuries or illness
Maintain accurate attendance and track the whereabouts of all assigned campers at all times.

Camper Development and Mentorship:

Serve as a positive role modeldemonstrating qualities like responsibility patience integrity and enthusiasm
Provide guidance and support to help campers meet personal goals and develop social skills
Address and mediate conflicts or behavioral issues among campers in a fair calm and respectful manner.

Other Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Storytelling

Capture high-quality photography and video of campers staff activities and special events
Document daily Camper Life programming including evenings weekends and special initiatives
Create short-form video content such as highlights recaps and promotional clips
Identify and capture moments that reflect Student Life culture connection and engagement

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old
Prior experience working with children youth programs or in a recreational/camp setting is strongly preferred
High school degree or equivalent is typically requiredfor full counselor roles.
Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team and be an independent problem-solver
Proven patience creativity enthusiasm and a positive attitude
Ability to exercise mature judgment and sound decision-making in high-pressure situations

Preferred Qualifications:

Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification
Lifeguard certification if working with water activities

Background Requirements:

Requires a background check upon offer
Requires a drug test upon offer
