Job Summary

Bennington College is seeking a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) to support Health Services providing high-quality culturally sensitive and gender affirming general health care for acute and chronic medical conditions. Reporting to the Director of Health Services the CCMA will assess students health needs and administer treatment within their scope of practice and support overall operations to ensure Health Services performs to the national and state standards. This position will work 35 hours per week while the term is in session (32 weeks/year).

The CCMA will work with all members of the Health Services team supporting health care operations in collaboration with the Director of Health Services and the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Assess observe and prepare patients for examinations and treatment.
  • Administer medications and treatments within the scope of practice and monitor patients for side effects and reactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient medical history and current health including updates to medications and allergies.
  • Performs wound care such as cleaning and bandaging.
  • Operates and monitors medical equipment.
  • Collects blood urine and other samples for lab work.
  • Educating patients on treatment and care plans as well as answering questions.
  • Additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
  2. CCMA national certification and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (primary care urgent care or similar). CPR and First Aid certification required.
  3. Verification of Hepatitis B vaccination status.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work with persons of diverse racial social-cultural economic and national backgrounds in support of student services and student learning.
  5. Knowledge of the developmental and health needs of students in a Higher Education setting.
  6. Computer literacy with a preference for experience with Google Suite and an electronic medical record system (Tebra is the system for Bennington College).

Compensation: The annual salary for this partial-year position is $25000.
