REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:	Masters degree in counseling from an approved school counselor preparation program. South Dakota School Counselor Certificate.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:	Five or more years experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:	This position requires constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination hearing speaking keyboarding use of wrists hands fingers writing sitting bending standing and walkinghis position requires constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination hearing speaking keyboarding use of wrists hands fingers writing sitting bending standing and walking.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:	Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships. Strong organizational skills. Ability to plan organize and work collaboratively with other teams

YOUTH SUICIDE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION TRAINING

South Dakota Codified Lawrequires certified educators to complete at least one hour of approved youth suicide awareness and prevention training every five years.Compliance is verified through district accreditation will be required to provide your most recent certificate of completion prior to starting employment with the Sioux Falls School District.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

Assist students and teachers in the formulation of academic personal/social and career plans based on the knowledge of students needs.
Collaborate with teachers and HAC counselors on the appropriate CTE courses for students interest.
Track dual/concurrent credit with CTE students.
Communicate with students HAC counselor parent/guardian and student.
Plan/Participate in CTE promotions.
Other duties as assigned.
