Job Summary:
The Information Technology Commercial Contracting Specialist is responsible for managing and negotiating complex IT contracts ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders including IT legal finance and external vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions that align with the organizations strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management:
- Draft review and negotiate IT contracts including software licenses hardware purchases cloud services and professional services agreements.
- Ensure contracts comply with company policies legal requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain a repository of all IT contracts and related documentation.
- Vendor Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors and service providers.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular vendor reviews and manage vendor risk assessments.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with IT legal finance and other departments to understand business needs and ensure contract terms meet those needs.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract-related matters.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and external vendors.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT contracts.
- Ensure data privacy and security requirements are addressed in all contracts.
- Monitor compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends best practices and regulatory changes affecting IT contracts.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance contract management efficiency.
- Provide training and support to junior team members on contract management practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology Business Administration Law or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CIPS IACCM) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT contract management procurement or a related field with a focus on complex IT agreements.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of IT contract terms conditions and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
