Job Summary:
The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations ensuring that all processes adhere to safety quality and productivity standards. This role involves leading a team of up to 50 employees coaching and training staff and ensuring compliance with company policies and GMP regulations. The Production Lead works closely with the Production Value Stream Supervisor to ensure smooth workflows troubleshoot any production issues and ensure that production goals are met. The ideal candidate has experience in managing production teams is proficient in data entry and reporting through MS Excel and excels in both communication and leadership.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Wear the appropriate PPE and uniform.
- Follow GMPs sanitation and safety procedures.
- Adhere to break schedules and report any policy breaches to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Coach and provide corrective actions to employees failing to meet quotas.
- Audit and report underperformance via email to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Ensure all direct reports maintain the required quality standards.
- Input data into appropriate spreadsheets daily.
- Train all new hires within the assigned production area.
- Oversee packaging operations to ensure products are packaged according to quality standards and production goals.
- Communicate effectively with the Supervisor to ensure smooth production operations including feedback on goals performance quality equipment materials and employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- At least 21 years old (per state law).
- Experience working in assembly plants (cells or tables) assembling products.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for daily data entry and reporting.
- Ability to lead a team of up to 50 people.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills at all management levels.
- Ability to de-escalate situations quickly and effectively.
Education and Experience:
- HS Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role with direct reports.
- 1 years of experience in training or coaching (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift carry push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to noise dust heat cold and other manufacturing conditions.
- Ability to stand walk bend and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
- Must be physically capable of sitting or standing for long periods or entire shifts.
- Must be capable of repetitive motion using hands and arms.
- Must have full use of arms hands and fingers for fine manipulation of cannabis making boxes and applying compliance stickers.
Work Schedule (Non-Exempt):
This position is scheduled on a full-time basis. Specific shift times and workdays are determined by the operation and may vary by location. Business needs may require work on evenings weekends and holidays as well as occasional overtime. Scheduled start and end times assigned shifts and workdays are subject to change based on staffing and operational requirements. Whenever feasible advance notice of schedule changes will be provided.
