Job Summary

Title: Full-Time World Language Teacher (Grades 912)World Language and/or American Sign Language (ASL)Ability to teach both a world language and ASL is preferredReports to: High School PrincipalJob Objective:Plans implements and assesses student learning experiences in highschool World Languages. Primary teaching responsibilities are expected to include Spanishcourses based upon student enrollment needs with the potential to develop and teachAmerican Sign Language (ASL) courses. The teacher fosters students language proficiencycultural awareness and communication skills while preparing them for college career andcivic readiness. The position supports the districts commitment to providing expandedlanguage opportunities and engaging students in meaningful global and cultural Qualifications: Valid Ohio Department of Education and Workforce teaching licensure in WorldLanguage (Spanish) for grades 912 or the ability to obtain. Candidates with American Sign Language (ASL) coursework proficiency or certificationare strongly encouraged to apply. Bachelors degree in Spanish ASL World Languages Linguistics Deaf StudiesEducation or a related field. Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish and/or American Sign Language appropriate forclassroom instruction. Strong understanding of second language acquisition and best instructional practices forlanguage learning.
