About the Role

This is not a check-the-box leadership role.

As Resident Care Director you are the clinical standard-setter. The tone-setter. The follow-through leader.

You are relentlessly attentive to detail. You believe systems exist for a reason. You hold yourself and your team to high standards. You understand that while every team member is different in personality and style the standard of care cannot vary. Things cannot get missed.

You are friendly approachable and cheerful but clear.
Supportive but firm.
Compassionate but uncompromising when it comes to resident safety and compliance.

No two days look alike. Interruptions happen. Families call. Providers arrive. A resident needs immediate attention. You handle distractions with urgency and composure and then return to the details to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

You follow established processes and when improvement is needed you elevate it thoughtfully and within regulatory guidelines.

What Youll Be Responsible For

  • Ensuring exceptional quality of resident care through clear standards monitoring and accountability
  • Overseeing the entire medication delivery system with precision and consistency
  • Conducting initial and ongoing resident assessments with accuracy and clinical insight
  • Evaluating medical concerns and coordinating care with providers and ancillary services
  • Interpreting policies and regulations for nursing staff ensuring full compliance
  • Supervising Resident Care Aides (RCAs) with clear expectations and consistent follow-up
  • Providing hands-on competency training with return demonstrations
  • Leading recruitment onboarding and in-service education for the nursing team
  • Serving as a trusted liaison to families healthcare agencies hospitals and emergency teams
  • Handling emergency situations calmly and efficiently
  • Participating in on-call rotation

Requirements

For Massachusetts (MA):

  • Current Massachusetts RN or LPN License in good standing
  • 1-year verifiable experience in Home Care or Assisted Living
  • Knowledge of aging and disability issues

For Connecticut (CT):

  • Current Connecticut Registered Nurse License in good standing
  • One of the following:
    • BSN with 2 years full-time clinical experience (including 1 year in home health/community health) OR
    • Diploma/Associate degree with 4 years full-time clinical experience within past 10 years (including 1 year in home health/community health)
  • Knowledge of aging and disability issues
