About the role

Were looking for a forward-thinking Solution Architect to help shape the technology landscape that underpins Southern Waters transformation journey.

Youll join our growing Architecture Chapter working at the intersection of business data applications and technology to design secure scalable and sustainable solutions. This is a role with real influence guiding senior stakeholders shaping delivery outcomes and ensuring alignment to a clear digital and enterprise architecture strategy.

What you will be responsible for

Owning the creation and documentation of architectural solution and decisions ensuring alignment with business goals and governance standards.
Designing end-to-end high-level solutions that integrate with existing systems and meet the organisations architecture principles.
Evaluating technologies identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending innovative effective solutions.
Leading technology and product selections to meet capability needs and align with strategic direction.
Providing technical leadership and guidance to delivery teams and ensuring successful implementations.
Understanding when solutions could and should be deployed to cloud platforms and when solutions need to be deployed to on-premise platforms.
Influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across business and IT to ensure shared understanding and clear decision-making.

Additional Requirements

This role may involve:

Working closely with operational teams in a highly regulated environment.
Designing solutions which may include asset management work management field mobility geo-location situational awareness and real-time operational control.
Contributing to projects that support the deployment and maintenance of critical national infrastructure.

What youll bring to the role

Essential

Strong background in enterprise-level solution architecture design and delivery. You should be able to demonstrate at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience working with architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and applying cloud-native and integration patterns.
Knowledge of Azure or hybrid cloud architectures plus REST messaging and event-driven integration.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Experience working within agile / iterative and traditional delivery models.

Desirable

Certifications such as TOGAF Practitioner and ITIL. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.
Experience in regulated industries (utilities transport energy).
Familiarity with asset management work order management field mobility geo-tagging or operational control systems.
