Warner Robins GA 31088-7810DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the MERC FSO in the administration of all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) to ensure compliance with government security requirements and MERC security policies and procedures as directed by the MERC FSO.
Assists the FSO with responsibility for all Closed Areas and SCIFS.
Assists the FSO with accountability for all classified documents and information.
Assists the FSO in performing annual self-inspections.
Administers and monitors all security measures related to processing clearance paperwork and must be familiar with Electronic Personnel Security Questionnaire (EPSQ) personnel security facility security document control access control security education and training as directed by the MERC FSO.
Assists in the investigation losses and security violations and recommends corrective actions.
Ensures destruction of classified information in accordance with NISPOM policies and procedures.
Contributes to the revision of procedures manuals and may interface with outside agencies.
Studies federal security regulations and restrictions related to MERC operations.
Contributes to the development of MERC security measures that comply with federal regulations.
Consults with local district or other federal representatives for interpretation or application of regulations applying to MERC operations as directed by the MERC FSO.
Prepares security manuals outlining and establishing measures and procedures for handling storing safekeeping and destroying classified records and documents and for granting MERC personnel or visitors access to classified material or entry into restricted areas as directed by the MERC FSO.
Must be familiar with duties and responsibilities of the Information System Security Manager for the certification and accreditation of any information systems used to process classified information.
Executes the duties and responsibilities of the MERC FSO in their absence.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
US Citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance up to the Top-Secret level.
An undergraduate degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university or 2 years of directly related experience; or a high school diploma and 4 years of directly related experience.
Must have a Facility Security Officer certification from the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA).
Must have knowledge of commonly used security concepts practices and procedures required by DCSA for receipt and storage both physical and digital of DoD classified materials and required by DCSA to maintain a facility classification at the appropriate level.
Must adhere to instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Must have the ability to interface effectively and professionally with co-workers and government agencies and officials.
Responsible for support and execution of other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the FSO.
